The New Moon occurring in Libra falling in the shape of LION lands within the end of October, heavily reverberating with the Grand Water Trine currently setting up between Mercury-Mars conjunct in Scorpio, Saturn in Pisces and Jupiter in Cancer, the latter of which is within orb of squaring the lunation. What feeds us, what we are ready to fight for and what we know we must let go of are all arranged harmonically and synergistically parallel each other across the varied life layers which register in our instincts, intuition and the broad psychic ambiance. The mood is thick and the atmosphere is heavy. New opportunities are being born, old immersions are concluding and critical stealth is being logistically run. Amongst this the quiet contemplation of seeding new cycles of subjective experience and manifestation incept within the relational balance, cultural fabric, social harmony and general equilibrium of life’s admixture.

As Venus is in Libra our sense of grace and beauty is more acute as well as our ability to evaluate quality being currently refined. We’re realizing our lives need to grow in new ways if they’re going to be at all fulfilling, nostalgia may be drowning us and we’re getting more triggered toward ruthlessness if not simply rawness and realness in the face of adversities. But, handled with the proper nuance and nimbleness we can accomplish an episode of narrative tension with integrative potential.

There’s the water of life, the poison of potency, the hypnotic procession of eternal return. We must make a loop, reconnect with the source, regenerate all over again. Some of us gets bathed in light, other portions drenched in shadow, the in-between catalyzes oracular transmission, and arcane wisdom arrives in the mind unpacked. We sit and digest our nutritious food secretly turning over and over the darkened mystery within like an impenetrable onyx, stunned by the scrying eye of its mirrored beauty.

Meanwhile the Moon hit’s peak dark and also turns the corner to initiate another cycle of brightening and becoming, and does so in LION shape. Being in Libra, so within the region of the kidneys, we might consider associations with the urinary tract and thus the bladder, which in Chinese Medicine has the job of removing waste liquid from the organism as well as removing excess emotion from the system, to which we might parallel the process of calming Sekhmet through drink, and the inevitable mass urination of a ceremonial bacchanal. Additionally, Bladder meridian dis-regulation, from a Chinese Medicine perspective, is common in cases of PTSD, so Mithras being a soldier’s sacred cynosure it is fitting. Trauma does tend to bind people, for both better and worse, and it’s a New Moon like this which could bring assessment to scales considering how and why you might be codependent with a person, or relying on anything in your life in a clinging-with-fear manner. Draining off the excess emotion makes sense in an Air sign, and during a Grand Water Trine we certainly have more water in the mix than we know what to do with, a notable feature of this fall which once properly processed leads us back to the fiery initiation we got prolonged flashes of spring-summer 2025 which will return and establish themselves as the norm by the end of the winter.

This is a power resetting moment which has thrust and potency but also the opportunity to make the world a more beautiful, harmonious, nourishing and fulfilling place via some ferocity, similar to Indian wrathful goddesses as Ma, universal mother. Some eggs may get broken to make this omelet but if we act accordingly we all may get fed in the process.
