December 4th’s Full Moon falls in a very particular spot in the zodiac amidst the abundance of Water element flowing, flooding, drowning, stagnating and dissolving everything since September. Not only is this a much needed injection of Air to balance the over-saturation, it occurs upon the bends of the nodal axis. The next two sets of eclipses coming up in late winter and late summer 2026 include eclipsed lunations in both the Virgo-Pisces and Leo-Aquarius axises, another indicator that one story is beginning to conclude while another is emerging to take its place in the narrative prominence.

December’s Full Moon swells to subjective climax in our temporally local moment pulling on the exact tension point middway between the Virgo-Pisces eclipse story, which is drawing to a close simultaneously with Saturn’s 3-ish year Piscean pressure test and Neptune’s 14-ish year Piscean epic melodrama. We have amidst early December a particular mutable T-Square which breeches the steaming, boiling, sizzling, fog dense, haze filled confusion of attempting to get ignited wet spark plugs with water seeped into the fuel tank and drizzle oppressing the campfire allowing for a brief eruption of fresh if not frantic air. With some air in the system cognition is momentarily not starved and a flurry of thoughts, ideas and data spring into the equation, and maybe the engine accidentally turns itself over, or some breezes clear the air of moisture enough to feed the struggling flames.

The busy thinking, curiosity driven communications, cross-pollinating exchanges, info-scans, clever riddlings, playful jugglings, ephemeral distractions, mind-games, brain-teasers, and penchant for multitracking trains of thought which occur here likely have pivotal significance to both: A.) What Mercury corrected over November regarding his stealthy attempts to not starve to death from a meaningless existence, and B.) some lucid/zany alternate perspectives on how exactly we can integrate a more loose, flowy, and improvised existence and not rely so heavily on scripts, programs, and procedures which narrow our ability to source from life’s happenstance bumper crops and out-of-no-where boons.

Jupiter, though retrograde, is in exaltation in Cancer so there are opportunities to expand into fulfilling and nourishing existences being doled out, but if we are too prescriptive we won’t even catch them in our scope. Left field is hence generally where things will be appearing, so where you have been taught to look logistically might be only useful for a good clean out at best. (Think for instance, how searching for housing on FB Marketplace or Craigslist is mostly just a way to witness how much people want to extract resource out of other people and not a viable way to locate shelter. You’d have better luck asking around and putting the word out until a friend of a friend of a friend happens to have a room for rent. Transpose this dynamic to the general for the moment.)

There’s multiple reasons for this. One is that the next North Node eclipse in February appears in Aquarius, furthering the outside-the-box / haven’t-even-ever-considered-that-yet theme. Another is Saturn and Neptune are moving into Aries, meaning new things initiated are going to be absolutely what’s up. The last time this happened mid-late 1800s was when society was cut loose in the wake of civil wars and dissolved empires just before trains, automobiles and other industrial machinery reshaped how things were made and moved around.

... but that was an Earth Elemental Epoch, now we are in an Air Epoch; It’s not going to be machines coming to concretize us, but reroutings of our networks which distribute our lives differently We will go through a time where we have to be calm and alert and on our feet or resting and ready to pounce until we begin to see more clearly what is transpiring and how society is setting into place, probably in three years when Saturn enters Taurus. Until then, being able to improvise is of primary importance. Additionally, Saturn and Neptune entering Aries means they are leaving Pisces: concluding a both hypnotic and zombifying period of human history (since 2012ish) with a lot of letting go being obligational.

The world isn’t what it was in the 2010s, 2000s, or prior, as a lot of culture has dissolved, commodities we relied on simply don’t exist, most things have inflated in price and gone down in quality, media is unverifiable, the search engine is inaccurate, news is spectacle at best, and in our personal lives we wake up from a dream we were living we thought was just life and realize suddenly we have things to do, we have to take action for some part or even all aspects of our worlds. Life hacks, online recipes, webMD diagnostics, Influencer informants, podcast specialists, and the plethora of subscription services are not really doing us any good, while also having drained our pockets. How do we just wing it? Can’t we just go rogue? We’re taking this turn, but not all at once; December is like the tea kettle going off which gets into our dream as a train whistle before it inevitably summons us to waking reality.

In this lunation we know what we energetically are driven towards, we have it in our sights even, our legs take us there whenever we don’t order them to stop walking, there’s the safe havens and the outside the lines in the wilds, and generally the latter feels safer at this point than the former— mobility begins to feel more viable than security as all the old programs to follow towards secure success have become not much more than a phishing scam, and you’re getting the sense staying put and allowing for the inflow of dopamine hits and mood calming substances are not masking the restlessness taking hold and that some thing is around the bend to stir the pot anyway, so why stay so sticky? The Gemini Full Moon in particular brings in the kind of thinking which is curious about options: Is there possibly another route? Any short cuts? Can you swap this out for that? Are substitutions allowed? Are there alternatives? Can you have multiple at once? Is there a limit on how many?

The culminating need for variety and omnidirectIonality is momentary, like a nuanced and particular tide carrying in a curious ephemera dual-purpose ideas, but in the larger plot it is significant: the collection of “what if instead we plug this into this rather than that” mental exercises which when enacted in the actual juggle of current life shapes get old programs finally erased from the mainframe and make room for the blank slates we need to just listen and feel for ripples in the pond as newness potentiates itself in all it’s open-ended-ness. This is the agility required to be able to toss three balls around and still catch them all in tandem, that flow-state calm to keep carrying out the procedure, and deal with glitches as they come while not fumbling the whole array.

You have an energetic, ultimate goal, which is to obtain proximity to whatever it is makes you feel the most exited, alive, turned on, enthusiastic, motivated, vital, or alive— but what gets you to that energetic end goal, that exhilarating vibration, may be via a bit of oddball alternate options you didn’t originally expect. This may be a bit of the “its so crazy it just might work” dynamic where hair-brain scheming somehow takes precedence over rational arrangement. But, as this is again more a momentary pivot point more than a stable and permanent shape, don’t base you’re whole future off this jumble-bag of cheat-codes. Be as ready to get out of this position as you were to get into it; welcome to agility, improv and opportunism, a kind of bat-shit, cos-play subterfuge likely to not be your crowning achievement, but will likely work as your “get out of jail free card”.

CRAB Shape is a bit of a maelstrom, kind of a swirl in which everything gets kicked up and spun around, caught by gusts and currents and re-dispersed. The Chinese tradition sees the 6th Xiu as the potential to become great, as in the succession of kings if carried out with smoothness, like maturity without loss, i.e. the power of aging gracefully. Wealth and power are available here when wood holds back water, like building a boat or installing a damn. How can your planning and decisiveness utilize the uncontrollable overwhelm of the seas? Wood metering out water also means the executive use of your life-force which can be applied toward cultivation and flourishing with enjoyment when not squandered on wasteful addictions.

The Indian tradition also sees a storm in the 6th Nakshatra, where the Storm-God Rudra, the Cryer or Wailer, is assigned by the RigVeda. In a myth of Rudra he plagued the world with the chaos of his incessant crying until properly named 7 times, suggesting greater ritual efforts to quell disruptive force. This tracks with what Jake Stratton-Kent commented about the great Superior Spirit Belzebuth whom he assigned to the 6th position: that working with him or his branch of subordinates was only wise if you were prepared to not lapse in goetic protocol. This is kind of like a ceremonial hard hat area advisory, but think about the season this zodiacal section belongs to: late spring when life is bursting with activity, insects are buzzing everywhere, things are quickening, it’s not slow, its fast paced and so its a keep your wits about you anything can happen type energy where things could get carried away if left unmonitored. Don’t let your passive assumptions take on a life of their own and get all frothy. That Tulpa you launch could be back at your place ringing your door bell before you know it.

Of course, Rudra is also a form of Shiva and fits the themes here of letting go. All things come to an end, there is impermanence, but within that there is eternal regeneration, and so there is mystery, and destruction precedes the the inception of life. Tears of sorrow and tears of joy. We’re feeling some of the high voltage principles that reality runs on here in an awakened way. Mutable signs want to change things. Don’t just scatter in the shatter. What do you want to see become different? Hold that thought.

The Picatrix sees two people embracing. I wonder if this is meant procreatively, as two people intertwined can sometimes conceive of new beings, and the talisman is for love between two people. Of course conception is not the only purpose of embrace, neither is romance, and indeed the elections mention friendship. Gemini is chatty, wants to talk and gossip and exchange in a variety of ways. The dams, protocols, and other safeguards discussed make me think of circuit-breakers in human connection. When you engage with the world, your interior-central-self or your consciously-aware-spirit-mind which resides in the Heart and is essentially an entity composed of the energy which animates your body and operates your being, bares itself to external forces, whether general, like an audience, or specific, as in an intimate conversation.

Being able to connect without short circuit is encoded into this particular stretch of the zodiac, consisting of the essence of 13ish days in the spring season when insects having their exoskeletons and crabs having their shells are of particular importance for participating in the upsurging of activity expressed in that moment, and transmitted to this Full Moon. This is especially true since Jupiter in Cancer is ruled by the Moon and so our very faculties of coherence will be colored by this need to connect and the improvised ways in which we juggle these conversations, exchanges, ideas and experiments all being churned up and spun around.

Picatrix also electing for improved hunting is likely a nod across the zodiac to where we currently find our Sun, transmitting the light for this Moon to be full: Mid Sagittarius and in the Shape of DEER. Like we said before, set your sights and hold that thought. There is a vitalizing thread you want to run along even when it swerves in and out of the civilized world and accepted norms of the status quo. We have to still be trackers despite all the distracting chatter. Don’t simply tune it out, the trail is in the thicket, but tune in for signal within the noise.

The Sun, Venus, Mars and eventually Mercury will be crossing Sagittarius in December so we will all be well acquainted with whatever our quest may be, and we know the next lunation will be a New Moon in MULTIFORM, the composite being which births all other composite beings, so if December 4th’s Full Moon has you filled with curiosity about crossing the streams then December 19th’s New Moon likely debut what your new mis-matched and remixed costume looks like.

MULTIFORM, being the center of the Saturnalian vibe is by nature non-conformist and upending of the status quo, so our hair-brained tracking route to keep our eyes on the energetic prize leads us through unexpected costume closets where we may end up in different identity shells having learned they probably took the impact of going live amidst peers or the populace better than the same old uniform we got used to wearing or which overly announces our mundane vocation— meaning, we don’t have to be so straight up, obvious or utilitarian and we also don’t have to be so authentic, we can even go incognito, let them believe whatever they want, its more about us being operational, efficiently connective and migrating towards our highest vitality status.

Opening up without frying circuits rather than closing down and having no energy flowing in. Humans need connection, we are social beings. Beside air, food and water connecting spirit-to-spirit is the only other thing required to not shrivel up and die. It’s just not always automatically safe, so we have to have our exchange transponders ready for whatever feedback might come in on the fly.

A note: May 26th 2025 was the New Moon in CRAB Shape which began the longer cycle related to December 4th’s Full Moon. Mercury was a few degrees away, lucidly powerful in his home sign, and came into Cazimi with the Sun on May 29th, when there may have been a particular download, activity, or conversation which contained clues connecting to the current moment.
