Today's New Moon falls just at the very end of BULL Shape which straddles tropical Aries and Taurus. We find here themes of sacrifice, honoring, of vessels, veneration, offerings as well as cooking and eating. Some early Vedic texts refer to this as the first Nakshatra, which likely has to do with a previous precessional period, as it takes about 930 years for a full mansion to precess into the next position. The Rig Veda refers to the nakshatras by the deities it associates with them, and in this case it is Agni through whom all the other gods are propitiated with offerings, material such as incense literally consumed by the fire and transported to the heavenly realm. This nature of how sacred fuel gets distributed into the fire came to rest and reside in our current season, which by saying Bull the Mediterranean material of the PGM may be referring to one of the most commonly sacrificed creatures, as well as the infamous sacrificing of the bull image of the Mithraic Tauroctony which in itself is an allegory of how the Age of Taurus fell to the Age of Aries. Many more cultures see the stars in general as the honored dead in a sublunar underworld reflected in the sky as the Sun traverses below the horizon. This is a Shape of absorbing blessings from elders who have passed on and knowledge from those who are still with us as long as the appropriate exchange of energy and food is carried out.

The Picatrix says this is a mansion for the acquisition of good things and uses in the talisman aromatics and oils, which may reflect how the gods are said to be fed via pleasant smells as it is more ethereal than mundane foodstuffs, as well as the general what goes around comes around between orders of being. Venus in Pisces ruling the lunation in Taurus is ruled by Jupiter in Gemini, so the foreshadowing of Uranus’ next revolution to overthrow information exchange is completely getting a telescope pointed at it at the moment even if all we see is a kaleidoscope of paradoxes. At the pace the world organically wants to go we can have our cake and eat it too, as experiences fully experienced nourish us across all the various bio-energetic channels and assure a favorable unfolding.
